Five Minute Friday: Here

Five Minute Friday

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Here.

I am a wife and a mother.
A daughter and a sister.

Here.

I am a friend and a teacher.
A writer and a dreamer.

Here.

I am a believer and a fighter.
A Christ follower. A vessel.

Here.

I am weak but strong.
Weary but persevering.

Here.

I am joyful and thankful.
Humble but prideful.

Here.

I am a dichotomy and a struggle.
Flesh and Spirit.

Here.

I am.

What are you?

This made me think a out all the different hats we wear in our lives, and the different parts of ourselves.
I am a wife, a mother, a Bible teacher, a friend, a frustrated ill-person, a bored person who is playing at writing.

    Thanks for making me think!

    • http://newlifesteward.com/ Mary Beth

I started wanting to write about being in the present moment fully….and this is where it went! Not exactly what I was aiming for but useful nonetheless!

  • Lori Hatcher

You have borrowed a beautiful literary technique. It reminds me of another “I am” — I am the Good Shepherd. I am the resurrection and the life. I am the way, the truth, and the life. . . . thank for reminding me of The Great I AM this morning. ~ Lori, visiting from Be Not Weary (www.lorihatcher.com)

Beautiful! I think you just described not only yourself, but women in general. What a beautiful picture! Thanks for sharing! Blessings!

Love, love, love!!! The empowerment with which you write is most certainly from Him. The confidence in your words is inspiring and causes me to want to jump up and say “YES!!”

Subscribed via email. I’ll look forward to reading more of what HE gives you to share.

I’ve not yet posted today but I’m between Legos, dinner and the Olympics!!!! My “baby” took a nap so that means days gets to work “second shift” because I’ll be out cold by 9!!!! I think that you are a “learner” as well–but not sure how you would fit that in . . .

    • http://newlifesteward.com/ Mary Beth

      I definitely agree! A life-long learner!

  • http://ourgoodfamily.org/ Aurie Good

This is lovely – simple and well written!!

  • http://www.dianadenis.com/ Diana Denis

I am exactly where you are. It is so comforting to know I am all these things and more; because of the Holy Spirit working in me I am also a reflection of Christ. This is beautifully written.

Love the flow of your words. I read the lines “I am weak but strong. Weary but perservering” a few times. Thank you.

Mary Beth, thanks for your transparency and honesty! Weary and persevering. I so get that!

  • Judith

This was creatively written. Amazing what can be done with just one word!!

  • ThandiweW

    Loved, this, but particularly ”
