If you are like me, when you hear (or read!) the word steward, you probably automatically jump to money! But this blog isn’t about money (shocker!) or at least not directly. Sure, the topics I want to talk about will affect the family budget, but they are vastly more important than the “bottom line”.

I’m talking about faith and family and so much more!

I believe that “every good and perfect gift comes from above”…straight from the hand of God himself (James 1:17). He has blessed me with so much: salvation through Jesus Christ, a loving husband, the cutest little boy you have EVER laid eyes on, an inquiring mind, a healthy body (for the most part), a solid education, fabulous parents, in-laws, and extended family, the list goes on and on. Believing that God has entrusted these gifts to me for a time, I want to be a good steward of them. I want to take care of them.

Enter Blog.

I do better when I have a little accountability. I need deadlines. I thrive on the classical school environment where I know exactly what is expected of me and when. Now that I’m “all grown up” and out of school, I don’t have that structure, so I’m hoping this blog will give me the motivation I need.

I’m trusting YOU my readers to push me to do what I say I’m gonna do.

Harass me when I don’t. Seriously. Tell me you are giving me a bad grade (I’m a bit of an academic perfectionist…).

I sat down awhile ago (February 2012) and made a list of goals for myself, my marriage, my parenting, and my household. This blog is going to chronicle my journey of reaching those goals, Lord willing.

I’m in it for the long haul. It’s probably going to be a lifelong journey…

What has God given you to be a steward of?

  1. Well, not to be a pain, but you did give us permission to bug you… Didn’t you say you were going to post the goals next? Or did I miss that? ;o) Seriously though, I enjoyed your post–it felt like we were sitting and chatting.
